I set out to design the ultimate minimalist wallet. I wanted something thin, small and a joy to carry – but also a design that could carry all essential credit and ID cards. I was not satisfied with other so-called minimalist wallets – the idea of taking a beautifully machined metal wallet and pairing it with elastic straps, velcro or rubber bands was offensive to me. The new design would have to avoid using any unnecessary parts, velcro, rubber bands, screws, rivets, hinges, magnets or clasps.
